Inkjet printers have been popular in the market ever since they were first released. But there are some who still can’t understand the reasons why these devices are very popular especially when it comes to photo and image printing. Even if laser printers are just as popular, inkjets are highly preferred for photo printing. But what makes inkjet printers very popular? Why do consumers choose them for printing photos over other printer types?

Quality of Printout. The quality of the printout is the most important factor in measuring the efficiency of a photo printer. Because of the full color cartridges that inkjet printers use, these devices are able to produce top notch photos. Their printing mechanisms allow them to create vivid and fully-detailed images. Using inkjet printers, even the smallest shadow changes and color alterations are seen in every photo printout.

Flexibility. Inkjet printers are useful for any printing activity. Even if you print in color, black and white, grayscale, sepia, or any other level of saturation, these printers can work great. Unlike dye sublimation printers, inkjets can be used for general printing purposes. They are able to print most documents and images which are allowable to be printed using a computer.

Ease of use. The simple and uncomplicated structures of most inkjet printers make them ideal for easy use. You don’t need to operate too many things, learn too many concepts, or understand too many facts when using inkjet printers. All you need to do is follow the buttons according to what they are for.

Connectivity. Most inkjet printers are very easy to connect to because they have complete connectivity features. Laser printers are not popularly built with Bluetooth, infrared, PictBridge, USB, or memory card connectivity. But inkjet printers have all of these and more with networking options through Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Dye sublimation printers may have the direct photo printing features but not the networking ones.

Durability and Easy Reparability. Laser printers contain many moving parts. Meanwhile, dye sublimation printers are not very familiar to many technicians and printer repair personnel. Inkjet printers are very easy to repair because they are very popular and most technicians already know how they are constructed, and most of the time, inkjet printers rarely require heavy repair.

Price. If compared to all other printer types, inkjet printers by far have the biggest advantage when it comes to the price. Other types of printers such as laser printers, dye sublimation printers, solid ink printers, digital LED printers, and thermal printers are way more costly as compared to inkjet printers. That is why many consumers have preference over inkjet printers - they don’t only provide a lot of benefits and features but they also don’t require too big a budget.

If you want a photo printing device, there’s no better device to use than an inkjet photo printer, regardless of what it is used for. It’s no surprise why inkjet printers are so well-known. They are very good in performing their functions and they can also exhibit extreme versatility that any consumer would love in a printer.
